Tomas and Adela had 5 children, from eldest to youngest
.
- Celia Guerrero Briones, she was a concert pianist. She married Aureliano Moreno. They had a bicycle store San Luis Potosi. They had 2 daughters:
- Lidia Moreno Guerrero, might be residing in Puebla, Mexico
- Celia Moreno Guerrero, lives in Mexico, DF
- Tomas Nicolas Guerrero Briones 1900-1942 (my patenal grandfather). He was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was a telegrapher in Mexico DF. He knew how to play the guitar even though he had small hands, therefore Guerrero decendents take a good look at your hands and if they small then you know. At the time of his death he was working in Guadalajara. He was a federal employee. He was a soldier and it was customary pack a weapon, in this case a hand guns. It was during his off hours from work that he could be found enjoying a casual drink inside a local bar. It was at this bar that he would be enjoying his last drink when the following happened; he was approached by some individuals (men) who needed answers to some questions. Apparently Tomas got involved with the sister (who was under age) of one of the protester. Upon Tomas not minding them and returning to his drink, the protester removed the hand gun (pistal) that Tomas had in his holster and the protester shot him. It is understood that the entire round of bullets were emptied on Tomas (gun type unknown, as of this writing). This event was recalled by my Aunt Alicia, as it was retold to her by her uncle Alfonso Guerrero Briones, brother of Tomas (my paternal grandfather). Tomas nick name was "Tito" out of affection towards him. Tito had been a very opinionated man as retold by Aunt Alicia. He was of fair skin completion. Alfonso Guerrero Briones was called "lawyer" since he would resolved problems and he organized Tomas funeral arrangement. Tomas was the youngest brother and he was lay to rest in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
- Alfonso Guerrero Briones, he was a deputy, chronicles were found on the Internet dated 1962 (approx). He was a lawyer I assume in his own right. He lived in the City of Mexico, deceased.
- Javier "Padre Xavier" Enrique Guerrero Briones, he was a Catholic Priest. He was born July 15, 1904, in the municipal of Lagunillas; he was the third child of Tomás Guerrero y Adela Briones.Padre Xavier studied in San Luis Potosi, in the seminary. It was on his visit to Mexico DF that he went for Ema and Alicia (Daughters of Tomas Guerrero, my grandfathers)) and brought them to Cuidad Valles, San Louis Potoso, Alicia was 5 years old . it was at this time that she met my Great-Grand Uncle Father Xavier (her uncle). This information was told to me by my aunt Alicia who currently lives in Chula Vista, California, she is 77 years old (2/2009). Information regarding Padre Xavier to follow, was obtain from http://polemicaenlahuasteca.blogspot.com/
- Maria Adela Guerrro Briones, she had __ children:
- Maria Del Carmen Guerrero (unconfirmed)
I'm one of more than 20 grandsons of Alfonso Guerrero Briones. You are right, he was a lawyer from UNAM. He was one of the first Deputies (equivalent to a representative in the U.S.) from a party other than the PRI. He was one of the creators of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), from which the current Mexican president is.
ReplyDeleteI had no ideas that your grandfather, Alfonso, was so into politics! I am very impressed, and would like to know more about him, since he is my grandfather's brother.
